The Palau National Youth & Cheldebechel Council (NYCC) is proud to host the first Dil Belau Contest on August 21, 2025. Our goal for this event is to select a young Palauan woman to join the NYCC as an advocate and role model, representing Palau’s youth.
We believe this Dil Belau event should be more than a beauty contest, it is an important platform that empowers young Palauan women to be heard, to lead, and to inspire. The contest will feature Palau’s cultural heritage, showcase each contestant’s attributes as a role model, and demonstrate her potential to be an engaged youth leader, advocate, and community activist.
We want to develop the professional position of Dil Belau, the skills being evaluated in the contest directly reflect the role and responsibilities that Dil Belau will have within the NYCC. The winner will receive a monthly stipend in addition to mentorship and professional development.
Pre-contest events have started this week and we have five contestants representing Ngarchelong, Ngatpang, Airai, Koror, and Peleliu. Stay tuned for their introductory videos later this week!
